It's not the time, it's the effort you put into your dish

Lien De Leenheer | I don't like it when people say that cooking takes too much time. Most people think preparing food is either black or white, you either prepare a dish that looks like it's been created by a Michelin star chef or the home cooking from mom that looks like it has been thrown on a plate from a 5 meter distance.

I love food, I like to cook and I really hope I can share my enthousiasm with you. but most important of all, I want to show that cooking doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend a full day in the kitchen to prepare something that tastes and looks great. This dish for instance, it's been prepared with some basic chicken, some lettuce and put together on a half broken plate. Still it only took me 15 minutes to prepare this and I even had time to do some dishes while the chicken was in the pan. I don't want to be in the kitchen for hours in a row... I want something quick, but I want it tasteful.

And for those who want to know: Chicken with lettuce, cauliflower, radishes and chicory, basil olive oil, some balsamic dressing and some basil. Only the chicken needs to be baked, all the other ingredients just have to be chopped. That's all.

It may take time but it's time well spent 10. February 2010 - 14:55

Hey Lien,

Been a while since I heard from you, so funny that I bump into this blogpost from you.

I totally agree that good food doesn't need to take hours and hours...but on the other hand, for those of us who like cooking, those hours are time well spent.
:-)

If you don't cook with love, don't bother.
